SILKED was founded by Stephanie Beard based on her own previous extensive worldwide travel and the difficulties in packing for multiple unknown destinations with different seasons, climates and alternating professional and social occasions. Realising and understanding what she herself wanted from her wardrobe inspired her to begin creating it. During these working trips Stephanie began collecting silk from various countries and designing her own clothing, finding that classic silk pieces always offered the versatility she desired. This then led her to return to university achieving a Masters in Entrepreneurship at world renowned Conde Nast College to make a real business of her creative vision.

SILKED London’s purpose is to mindfully design and create clothing where the process is just as beautiful as the outcome and where quality supersedes quantity. Locally produced in London, the brand champions English production and is driven by versatility, femininity and sustainable and ethical practice.
